Kigali Sensory Food Museum
Ibishyimbo Sensory Museum is a food-culture museum in Kigali, Rwanda, inspired by the form and cultural significance of the bean. Located beside the Nyabarongo River, the project combines sensory tasting rooms, interactive kitchens, grain milling spaces, food and health education, indigenous gardens, and public landscape areas. The building uses a soft, rounded massing to create a welcoming civic presence, while its timber-like façade, planted terraces, shaded outdoor spaces, and riverfront connections turn food heritage into an immersive experience of taste, smell, touch, landscape, and community.
